Ricardo Piglia argued that a short story always tells two stories: the visible one, and a second one told in secret underneath it. The ending works when the hidden story surfaces.

This skill writes to that thesis rather than to a plot outline. First person, under four thousand characters, and a second story running below the first from the opening line. Most generated fiction fails because it only has one story in it.

How to use it

Clone it into your skills folder and ask for a story.

  1. Terminal
    git clone https://github.com/JaimeOrtegaxyz/short-story.git \
      ~/.claude/skills/short-story
  2. Then invoke it, or just ask for a short story.

    Terminal
    /short-story

Clone it into .claude/skills/ inside a project instead and it is scoped there. One story per run, under 4,000 characters including the title. English by default, Spanish on request.
